Designing a Dual-Audience Travel Platform for B2B & B2C

Background
Moment Travel is a small–medium tour operator offering guided tours, cruise packages, and customised travel trips. The owner first attempted to build the website herself but faced technical, UX, and CMS challenges. The business needed a professional, easy-to-use travel website that could support multiple product types and integrate with a third-party CMS provider. The owner wanted to build a travel website but faced technical challenges, so she hired me to help. One key challenge was the API feed connection. I initially planned to build the website using WordPress or Webflow, but decided to hand it over to the Moonstride team since they own the CMS product. This allowed me to focus on wireframes and UI design.
Key problems & opportunities
The main persona is Australian Chinese families looking for holidays.
- I added Chinese language translation because most customers are Chinese Australians. The target personas are family travellers, mid-age and above.
- I made the fonts larger for better readability, suitable for mid-age users.
- I added a "Deals" section to the menu because the target market is middle-income travellers who look for discounts on cruises and tours.
Solutions

To ensure search feature are easy to use in few clicks, and less typing

A full booking journey covering search → country → itinerary → booking → confirmation. This helped developers and the owner understand the entire system clearly.

Less typing, and choosing instead.

Organising a comprehensive booking detail in organised way, I decided to use floating banner for easy booking

To modernise but still respect the original brand:Primary Colours: Green + light green (taken from existing logo)Accents: Beige for warmth, Orange for highlight & CTA buttonsTypography:Inter — headings (clean, modern)Roboto Slab — body copy (readable, friendly for older users)
Conclusion
Because strong relationships are key for travel agencies, we ensured users can quickly contact an agent anytime they need clarification or personalised options.
Working closely with the Moonstride team allowed us to reduce development time, as Moment Travel is integrated with their existing CRM solution.
